Unable To Connect To Oracle Database Through Seebeyond ICAN-JCDs

Symptoms
ICAN was initially able to connect normally to Oracle Database (RAC with 4 nodes) using userid/pswd, SID and hostname.
After the application of a security patch, ICAN was unable to connect to the same Oracle DB, which is caused the ICAN integration server to stop abruptly
The following error was logged:
An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM.
Unexpected Signal : 11 occurred at PC=0xA6770354
Function=[Unknown. Nearest: skgupdone+0x31C]

Changes
A security OS patch was applied to the DB Server OS ( Suse Linux OS patches - 2nd QTR2014 - GM standard )
