Symptoms

The Oracle Studio Studio 12.3 C++ compiler in default -compat=5 mode, and Oracle Solaris Studio 12.4 C++ in both default -compat=5 mode and -std=c++11 mode reject the following code:

To improve application runtime performance,
<BUG:15709679> SUNBT7037041 DEFAULT PLACEMENT NEW AND DELETE SHOULD BE DEFINED INLINE 

replaced the placement version of operator new with an faster inline version.
