OIM11gR2PS2: Login Loop Using the Chrome Browser

On 188.8.131.52.x Oracle Identity Manager (OIM), when using the Chrome browser, you observe a login loop at the OIM Self Service or System Administration login screens.
When you enter the correct credentials, you're redirected back to the login screen without any error message in the user interface or log files.
This can repeat anywhere from 2 - 15+ times before you're finally able to log in.
If you switch to any other browser, you're able to login without any issue and the issue may suddenly start happening in Chrome after previously working with no issue.
Depending upon the version of Chrome you're using, the issue can be consistent or can suddenly start happening due to automatic updates to Chrome resulting in Chrome Version 34.0.1847.131 m or higher.
