ODSEE / DPS - Issue with "dsccreg add-server" for Directory Proxy Server When Cert Alias Contains Space (Doc ID 1917352.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 13, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition - Version 11.1.1.7.1 to 11.1.1.7.1 [Release 11gR1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When the DPS instance's certificate alias name has alias inside, the "dsccreg add-server" will not be successful.

Eg,

Assuming the DPS instance's cert alias is "<TEST CERT>".

# dsccreg add-server /$INSTANCE_PATH/$INSTANCES/<DPS_INSTANCE/
  Enter DSCC administrator's password:
/$INSTANCE_PATH/$INSTANCES/<DPS_INSTANCE/ is an instance of DPS
  /$DS_INSTALL_HOME/dsee7/bin/dpadm exited with 170 for
  /$INSTANCE_PATH/$INSTANCES/<DPS_INSTANCE/
  /$INSTANCE_PATH/$INSTANCES/<DPS_INSTANCE/ is may be corrupted.
Warning: unable to retrieve the certificate
keytool error: java.lang.Exception: Alias <test> does not exist
Agent No  Hostname                   Port  Owner  iPath
  --------  -------------------------  ----  -----
  -----------------------------------------
  ...
  /$DS_INSTALL_HOME/dsee7/var/dcc/agent
The registration will use DSCC agent on port: 3997
  Enter password of "cn=<PROXY_ADMIN>" for
  /$INSTANCE_PATH/$INSTANCES/<DPS_INSTANCE/:
  Connecting to /$INSTANCE_PATH/$INSTANCES/<DPS_INSTANCE (using
  ldap://<HOST_IP>:<PORT>)
  Enabling DSCC access to /$INSTANCE_PATH/$INSTANCES/<DPS_INSTANCE
Registering /$INSTANCE_PATH/$INSTANCES/<DPS_INSTANCE in DSCC on localhost.

After the registration, the DSCC console will show the DPS instance with "Degraded" status.
