Sample Enterprise Capture Recognition Processor Script to Retain Existing Meta-Data for New Documents (Doc ID 1918874.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 28, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Enterprise Capture - Version 11.1.1.8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Enterprise Capture 11.1.1.8, meta data fields populated by Import Processor are being output in the file name only for the first invoice in an email.  The Import Processor job creates a batch as a single document.  After being processed by Recognition Processor, the document splits into multiple documents.  Only the first document contains the meta data values supplied by the Import Processor job.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Configure Import Processor job to pick up emails from an inbox. Index fields are being populated with values such as Email Subject and Sender.
  2. The Import Processor job's post processing step is to Document Conversion Processor which is setup to convert PDFs to tiff.
  3. The Document Conversion Processor job is configured for "Document Merge Options" of "Do not merge documents".  The Post-Processing post processes option is set to Recognition Processor. Recognition Processor is setup to split into multiple documents based on Patch code separator.
  4. The Recognition Processor job's post processing option is to send to Commit Processor. Commit Processor names the document file based on index fields set in Import Processor.
