Mapping Lock Icon Persists in ODI 12.1.x Studio Even When User Preference is Set Up with 'Unlock object when closing'

Symptoms
After setting Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 12.1.2 or 12.1.3 Studio User Preferences from the Studio > Tools > Preferences... menu item with the following values:
- Check for concurrent editing : checked
- Lock object when opening : Yes
- Unlock object when closing : Yes
and giving Specific Profiles to the User, when closing a locked Mapping, the LOCK icon remains in place.
This is not to be expected according to the - Unlock object when closing flag when set to Yes.
