User Login to OID 11g via ODSM Fails with: Error Invalid credentials | Error opening connection: [LDAP: error code 49 - Invalid Credentials] (Doc ID 1924840.1)

Symptoms

Attempt to connect to Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g (11.1.1.4 and higher) using Oracle Directory Services Manager (ODSM) fails for a new user created:

(x) Error

Invalid credentials.

 
The same user is able to bind using ldapbind command line.

The cn=orcladmin account is also able to login.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Access ODSM URL.
2. Choose "Connect to a Directory" option and select the preconfigured OID connection.
3. In the Connect window, enter the new username, e.g., "cn=myadmin" and the valid password for the user.
4. Click Connect, and the error occurs.
