Purpose

This document illustrates how to configure the KDUMP utility to capture a vmcore file in response to a kernel panic.

The procedure to configure Kdump described in this document applies to the following EECS releases on Exalogic in a Virtualized configuration:

-    2.0.6.0.x
-    2.0.6.1.x
-    2.0.6.2.x
-    2.0.6.3.x

NOTE:

Procedure in this MOS Note does not apply to 2.0.6.4.X Virtual Dom0 Compute Node. For KDump configuration steps for 2.0.6.4.X Virtual Dom0 compute node refer to <Note 2704455.1>.

For MOS notes related to Kdump configurations on other Exalogic releases refer to Kdump configuration Primary <Note 1996649.1> for Exalogic.
