IBM iSeries Extract Abends OGG-05500 Detected Database Metadata Mismatch When Reading Trail Files (Doc ID 1926684.1)

Symptoms

Replicating from IBM iSeries the extract will sometimes abend with the error -

Starting at 2014-08-18 06:30:07

Operating system character set identified as ISO-8859-1. Locale: en_US, LC_ALL:.

Switching to next trail file ./dirdat/p1000031

2014-08-18 06:30:14 ERROR OGG-05500 Detected database metadata mismatch between current trail file ./dirdat/p1000031 and the previous sequence.
DBNAME: - unreadable characters
*DBLOCALE: [en_US]/[en_US_POSIX].

other times it reads the trail files successfully -

Starting at 2014-08-16 20:27:40

Operating system character set identified as ISO-8859-1. Locale: en_US_POSIX, LC_ALL:.

Opened trail file ./dirdat/p1000029 at 2014-08-16 20:27:47
Switching to next trail file ./dirdat/p1000030 at 2014-08-16 20:27:47 due to EOF, with current RBA 943

The extract abends when rolling over from one trail to the next.
