Encoding Error, every Character with Accentuation are being replaced by 'Ã' (Doc ID 1929879.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 03, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle SOA Suite - Version 11.1.1.7.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
There are two composites that exchange data trough a XML Type Oracle queue (AQ).

The messages are being en-queued and de-queued using AQ Adapters running on SOA Suite 11.1.1.7.0.

Everything is working fine with the composite en queuing messages. However, the composite that de-queues message is getting encoding problems in message content: every character with accentuation is replaced by Ã.

Examples:
Message being queued by composite one:

FERRAMENTAS ELÉTRICAS

ACESSÓRIOS PARA MICRORRETÍFICA

CAIXA PLÁSTICA DE ACESSÓRIOS

Message being received by composite two:

FERRAMENTAS ELÃTRICAS

ACESSRIOS PARA MICRORRETÍFICA

CAIXA PLÁSTICA DE ACESSÃRIOS

The message content in the database was reviewed by using SQL Developer, and it is fine.

Goal

Every character with accentuation are being replaced by 'Ã' for unknown reason.  Everything else is working ok.

Platform:  IBM AIX on POWER Systems (64-bit) version 7.1
