Last updated on MAY 13, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Tuxedo - Version 11.1.1.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Tuxedo MP configuration (when you set the MODEL parameter to MP in Tuxedo ubb configuration file) master node running Tuxedo 11.1.1.2 and slave node running Tuxedo 9.1(or earlier).

If deployed on the slave node a TMS Server, built with Oracle Database client and Tuxedo libraries, with the Tuxedo ubb configuration file OPENIFNO parameter encrypted password

(specify 5 asterisks as password : "The series of five asterisks (*) in the OPENINFO string pertains to the encrypting of a password")

The TMS server for the Oracle Database will fail to start:

exec TMS_ORA11g_T91_VC71_W2008 -A :
on UATWIN2K8 -> CMDTUX_CAT:1685: ERROR: Application initialization failure

When the passwords are switched back to text characters, all TMS Servers boot properly.
