Exalogic Best Practice: Configure Oracle Traffic Director (OTD) to use TCP instead of SDP (Doc ID 1932308.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 15, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.4.0.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

Compute nodes (dom0) in environments with Oracle Traffic Director (OTD) deployed within vServers (domU) hang intermittently followed by an automatic reboot cycle within hours. The frequency of such hangs/reboots is approximately 1-2 incidents per week depending on the load on the system. When a compute node hangs/reboots, all vServers on that node go offline, impacting services provided by those vServers. Manual intervention is typically required to bring the node and services back on line.
