You have downloaded the "Oracle VM Template for SOA Suite on Oracle Exalogic Media Pack for x86 64 bit" from and used that template to create a new vserver in Exalogic
After creation of the vserver, you are unable to login. When trying to login using the 'xm console', you get the below error:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

- Download "Oracle VM Template for SOA Suite on Oracle Exalogic Media Pack for x86 64 bit" from
- It contains the following 3 files

- Combine the 3 files to a single template file using the procedure in README file
- Upload the template EM Ops Center in EMOC (under vDC Management, go to your vDC account and use 'Upload Server Template')
- From EMOC, use 'Create vServer' to create a new vserver
- After the job completes, try to login to the vserver using 'xm console'

- You will see an output similar to below

       Give root password for maintenance
       (or type Control-D to continue):

If you give the default root password (ovsroot), you will see the below prompt.

       (Repair filesystem) 1 #
       (Repair filesystem) 1 #
       (Repair filesystem) 1 #

If you type Control-D, you will see the below output and then the vserver will reboot.

       Unmounting file systems
       Automatic reboot in progress.
