Javascript Error Reported When Users Upload File in Portal

Symptoms
Problem noticed when users upload file(s) to WebCenter Portal using Internet Explorer 8 or 9.
Users choose to upload file. After a mouse click to "Select Files" to upload, no change is browser page is noticed.
A JavaScript error (icon) is seen in the browser's status bar. Double mouse click on the icon to display the error.
