Java Plug-in Does Not Start in Internet Explorer Browser If 'ActiveX Filtering' Is Activated (Doc ID 1936131.1)

Symptoms

The Internet Explorer browser will not run Java applets if 'ActiveX Fitering' is turned on.

This behavior can be seen with Internet Explorer 9 (IE) on 32-bit Windows Vista when trying to run the "Verify Java" applet from java.com.

 

Changes

ActiveX Filtering is turned on.  This can be seen by following this chain of menu choices:  Tools -> Safety -> ActiveX Filtering (checked)
