In 11g, the Metadata only Checkbox is not Available on the Check-in form when a Previous Revision has a Primary file but this was Available in 10g (Doc ID 1938313.1)

Last updated on APRIL 09, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Using WebCenter Content (WCC) 11gR1-11.1.1.6.0-idcprod1-140611T131754.

In config.cfg, following parameter is set:

AllowPrimaryMetaFile=true

Metadata only content can be checked in successfully.

However, when creating a new revision of a content item with an existing primary file, it is not possible to have the revision be a metadata only one, without a primary file assigned.
The Meta-Only checkbox is not displayed when content has been checked in with a primary file.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Add AllowPrimaryMetaFile=true to config.cfg and restart WCC
  2. Check-in a new content, specifying a primary file (leave meta-only unchecked)
  3. When the content is released, click on the Content Information link
  4. Check-out the content
  5. Click on check-in: notice that the 'meta-only' checkbox is not displayed

This was not the case when using WebCenterContent 10g

Changes

For this case, WebCenter Content was upgraded from UCM 10gR3. and the 'meta-only' checkbox is still displaying when trying to create a new revision.
