ADF Model Driven Ppr On Output Texts For Application Module Return Value Is Not Working (Doc ID 1939375.1)

In ADF 11.1.1.7.0, a method created in an Application Module that returns a String value is added to the AM's client interface.
If the method call operation is dragged from the data control onto a page if generates an ADF Parameter form (inputText for each parameter and a button to submit).
In addition the result component of the operation is also dragged onto the same page as an output text.

As in previous versions the corresponding Bindings are set to ppr refresh the component they are read by.
In ADF 12.1.3 this behaviour seems to be broken and has to be managed by a partialTrigger on the UI Components.

Is this expected?
