Documents Service Provisioning Process Takes More Than 10 Minutes When Using WebCenter Portal with Framework Folders (Doc ID 1942231.1)

Symptoms

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

Documents Service Provisioning takes more than 10 minutes in a new Portal when using Framework Folders.

WebCenter Portal was configured with WebCenter Content using  Framework Folders as per the following document:

Note 1668815.1 - Tutorial: Configuring Oracle WebCenter Content Server with Framework Folders for Oracle WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.8 (dot8+BP3 or later)

 

STEPS

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Create a new Portal using the "Portal Site" template.
     
  2. After creating the portal click on the link to view the Portal.
     
  3. Make visible the document page by going to:  
    Manage --> page --> Document --> Click "Visible" --> Save
     
  4. View the portal again and go to the Documents page.
    You will see the options to upload/download documents are gray out / disabled.
    These options become available after around 10 minutes.
