Unable to map restriction String Type (string1000) to String Type in Data Association (Doc ID 1942309.1)

Last updated on MARCH 22, 2019

Oracle Business Process Management Suite - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

In BPM 12c (both jDeveloper version and BPM Composer version), the interface exposed by the DB Adapter defines varchar or char types of DB columns as restriction string type, e.g varchar(1000) is defined as string1000 (simple String Type with restriction of 1000 bytes length), like:

<xs:element name="input" type="string1000"/>
<xs:simpleType name="string1000">
   <xs:restriction base="xs:string">
     <xs:maxLength value="1000"/>

In data association, it's not possible to drag and map between String Type and this 'string1000' type or vice versa.
