Error after Upgrade to 11.1.1.7, 'error exception.70401' (Doc ID 1943292.1)

Goal

After upgrading from 11.1.1.4.0 to 11.1.1.7.0 the following error is thrown when inspecting the content of the response of the process initiated in step 1 the initiate activity.  From a Receive activity in the Audit Trail window, the "Payload XML" is completely blank.
