Logon Manager Displaying "Logon Failed. Please Verify Your Credentials" Error (Doc ID 1945580.1)

Symptoms

After upgrading the Windows 2003 ADAM servers to Windows Server 2012 with ADLDS,
the ESSO-LM client displays the following error:

"Logon failed. Please verify your credentials"

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Open the ESSO-LM interface on the windows desktop.
2. Attempt to Add/Modify a credential.
3. Attempt to reveal a credential.
