Conversion From Charset UTF-8 Of Source DB To Some Single Byte Charset On Target DB Causes Errors

Trying to do an initial load from a Source database to a Target database ,results in the following errors when the Source has a multibyte charset(i.e. UTF-8) and the Traget has a single byte character set (i.e. windows-1252)
WARNING OGG-01194 Oracle GoldenGate Capture for Oracle, eini_8.prm: EXTRACT task RINI_8 abended : Conversion from character set UTF-8 of source column CLIENT_ALIAS to character set windows-1252 of target column CLIENT_ALIAS failed because the source column contains a character that is not available in the target character set.
ERROR OGG-01203 Oracle GoldenGate Capture for Oracle, eini_8.prm: EXTRACT abending.
