On PeopleTools release 8.5x, while setting up Integration Broker (IB) to communicate with a non-PeopleSoft system that is a web service provider.
The WSDL definitions of the target service was successfully re-imported in Consume Web Service Wizard, retrieved via HTTPS based WSDL URL.
The necessary IB meta-data for call were built, though it was found that the endpoint URLs for service operations are HTTP bases, not HTTPS.
Further investigation has shown that the WSDL definitions by some reason had it that way, with plain HTTP. The rest of the IB setup looks fine.
However when trying to call any of the service operations from PeopleSoft, the call fails:
