Infrastructure Networks Disappear Or Are Renamed After Applying the July 2014 Exalogic PSU to an Exalogic Virtual Installation (Doc ID 1951149.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 21, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

You have an Exalogic System running Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software (EECS) version (on X2-2/X3-2 systems) or (on X4-2 systems) in a virtual configuration. You have previously successfully created vSevers associated with various Infrastructure Networks such as the IPoIB-vserver-shared-storage network. However, you have recently noticed that under the Networks accordion panel within the Enterprise Manager OpsCenter Browser User Interface (BUI) one or more of the expected Infrastructure networks appears to have disappeared or been renamed from it's prior user friendly name (e.g.  IPoIB-admin, IPoIB-default, IPoIB-ovm-mgmt, IPoIB-storageIPoIB-virt-admin and IPoIB-vserver-shared-storage) to a less familiar name that includes the CDIR and PKey of the network, for example:[pkey=0305].

In addition, when you attempt to create a new vServer you are no longer see the Network offered in the "vNet Selection" step of the "Create vServer" wizard.

The change will hake taken place after applying the Exalogic July 2014 PSU:

Exalogic Patch Set Update (PSU) Release and (Linux - Virtual) for July 2014
