Purpose

This document provides a procedure to upgrade Exalogic Guest vServers running Oracle Linux 6.5/6.8 (OL6.5/6.8) to the latest Oracle Linux 6.x (OL6.x) version.

Note that an upgrade from OL5.x to OL6.x is not supported at this time. Accordingly, this procedure is not applicable to Exalogic Guest vServers running Oracle Linux 5.x.

NOTE: Please note that the procedure in this Note just upgrades the OS and other packages which are not part of yum exlcude list. Kernel is not upgraded which is part of yum exclude list. For upgrading the kernel, Exalogic PSU update should be applied on Guest vServer.
