The issue was observed in IE, Chrome and Firefox browser.
Symptoms
On : 11.1.1.7.0 version, Content Server (or greater)
ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Excution of a Check Out And Open, the user's OAM session is not being passed to the CheckOut and Open WebDav.
1. May result in the document being opened in the Microsoft Office application in Read-Only mode.
2. May result in a prompt for credentials.
STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Configure OAM and HTTPS
2. Check-In content item
3. Actions: Edit (aka: Check Out And Open)
