In JDeveloper 12c It Is No Longer Posible To Use Pipelined-Functions As A Data Source In SQL Query Based ViewObjects. (Doc ID 1960999.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle JDeveloper - Version 12.1.2.0.0 to 12.1.3.0.0 [Release 12c]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In JDeveloper 12.1.2/12.1.3 it is not possible to use pipelined functions as a data source for a View Object. This was possible in 11g versions.

The source function is defined as

CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION hr.getemployees(adepartmentid NUMBER)
RETURN hr.emptable
PIPELINED
AS
BEGIN ... END

At the step in the creation of the View Object where it is normally possible to select the attributes from the data source, none of the attributes returned by the pipelined function are visible.
