Server LifeCycle Timeout for Forced Shutting Down Managed Coherence Servers (Doc ID 1963359.1)

Last updated on APRIL 01, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Coherence - Version 12.1.3.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

With WebLogic Server a forced shutdown is immediate, the WebLogic Server subsystems suspend all application processing currently in progress. A forced shutdown can be performed on a server instance in any state.

If a fatal exception causes the forced shutdown to fail, the server will exit with following message after the number of seconds specified by the ServerLifecycleTimeoutVal attribute in ServerMBean.

A Coherence managed server will redistribute partitions during shutdown.  This timeout may cause partition loss if several coherence servers failed forced shutdown at the same time.
