'xelsysadm' Has Insufficient Permission To Access EJB (Doc ID 1965999.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 09, 2018

Applies to:

Oracle Adaptive Access Manager - Version 11.1.1.5.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

OAM/OAAM/OIM 11g are integrated.

Password changes was previously working. Suddenly, users are unable to change their passwords. They are redirected from OIM self-service to the OAAM integrated password reset page; all password policy rules are followed, but the password update fails with error: "An error occurred while attempting to change your password. Please try again." All other functionality appears to be working for all other products.

Looking in the OAAM logs we see:

javax.ejb.EJBAccessException: [EJB:010160]Security Violation: User: 'xelsysadm' has insufficient permission to access EJB: type=, application=oim#11.1.1.3.0, module=iam-ejb.jar, ejb=UserManager, method=changePasswordx, methodInterface=Remote, signature={java.lang.String,char[],boolean,java.util.Locale,boolean,java.lang.String}
