'Credential not defined in the credential store.' Displayed In Error Log When Launching an ODI 12c J2EE Agent For The First Time (Doc ID 1966543.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to launch an Oracle Data integrator (ODI) 12c J2EE Agent, the following is observed:

Error: Command FAILED, Reason: JPS-01033: Cannot set credential.
Reason oracle.security.jps.JpsException: oracle.security.jps.service.policystore.PolicyObjectNotFoundException: parent DN does not exist [cn=CredentialStore,cn=opssSecurityStore,cn=JPSContext,cn=opssRoot],
uniqueID: [cn=oracle.odi.credmap,cn=CredentialStore,cn=opssSecurityStore,cn=JPSContext,cn=opssRoot], Attributes: {objectclass=objectclass: top, orclContainer, cn=cn: oracle.odi.credmap},
JpsDataManager: oracle.security.jps.internal.policystore.rdbms.JpsDBDataManager@7d8ef27b.

... and the Agent log is showing the following:
