Goal
How To Update the JDBC and UCP Drivers Bundled with WebLogic Server
This document describes how customers should upgrade the Oracle JDBC and UCP drivers bundled with WebLogic Server 10.3.6 and newer releases for support with certified Oracle Database versions.
Important:
This is not a document to instruct what Oracle Database versions are certified with different drivers. Information in this document will help one update and maintain the installed JDBC driver to improve functionality and fix issues connecting to any certified Oracle Database. To see what Oracle Database versions are certified with Oracle WebLogic Server, see the version's Certification at https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/fusion-certification-100350.html or on My Oracle Support, Certifications tab.
Note that certifications are performed using the FMW/WLS installed JDBC driver, not replacing the driver with a different driver supplied by the Oracle Database Client because of a newer Database version. For 10.3.6, some fixes are required with an extra patch built just for WLS, and in 12c versions, there are patches applied to the JDBC component at installation time, along with other recommendations. --> Providing this information and maintenance thereof is the scope of this document.
