In Exalogic Virtual release 22.214.171.124.2, issue of guest vServer graceful shutdown hanging forever is observed.
Graceful shutdown on the guest vServer using following methods hangs.
- shutdown done from EMOC on the guest vServer
- "xm shutdown <UUID>" command used from CN to shutdown the guest vServer
- "shutdown -h now" command used on the guest vServer for graceful shutdown.
Looking into the xm console messages of the guest vServer during shutdown operation we see "/var : device is busy" message as follows:
However there are no issues with the guest vServer itself when it is in running state. All the applications continue to work fine without any issues and no problems are seen on the guest vServer when it is UP.
Force shutdown of the guest vServer using "xm destroy <UUID>" works without any issues.
