GoldenGate Integrated REPLICAT appears to be hung: BATCHSQL with large "apply shared t" in the Streams Pool
(Doc ID 1985152.1)
Last updated on MAY 22, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle GoldenGate - Version 11.1.1.0.0 to 12.1.3.0.0 [Release 11.1.1 to 12.1]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
An Integrated REPLICAT appears to be consuming a lot of memory in the Oracle database Streams Pool, where it is processing in the order of 50 million operations per day.
However, it also appears to be hung, or slow.
On examination:
- The Streams Pool has a memory allocation called "apply shared t" that is very large
- The (OEM) Manage Replication / GoldenGate Apply Statistics show that the active Apply Servers are in the state "WAIT FOR NEXT CHUNK" i.e. waiting for the next memory chunk
- Increasing the STREAMS_POOL_SIZE does not help
Changes
The REPLICAT has been configured with the BATCHSQL parameter
