Integrating LDAP with an External Application that Uses RIDC (Doc ID 1985323.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 14, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

An external application to connect to Content server, is a framework of webservices that executes different actions in Content Servlet (Update the fields of a document, delete a version, etc). The services are developped with RIDC, and can use both types of protocol communications: idc and http.

How to integrate this application with the LDAP, to be able to execute the services without providing the password? The steps are the following:

  1. Users are authenticated in the LDAP of the organization.
  2. Users can execute our external application to execute actions with content sever.

Is it possible to execute the webservices without providing the password, via RIDC? How can this be achieved if the connection is HTTP?  What is needed is SSO functionality. The users authenticate once and after that they can execute the RIDC application without providing the password.
