GoldenGate DEFGEN For SQL Server Is Not Handling All Object Names With Special Characters (Doc ID 1986269.1)

Symptoms

SQL Server allows column/table names with special characters (spaces, dashes, single quotes, etc).

DEFGEN does handle spaces, dashes, and single quotes correctly by enclosing the column in the DEFGEN file with double quotes, as in:

"Contract Number" 0 5 22 0 0 1 0 5 5 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 -1 0 0 0
"Insurer'sName" 64 32 156 0 0 1 0 32 32 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 12 -1 0 0 0
"Insurer'sAddress-1" 64 32 193 0 0 1 0 32 32 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 12 -1 0 0 0


It doesn't handle column names with Parenthesis in the name, as in below for column name "HospitalIns(PartA)":

HospitalIns(PartA) 0 1 2563 0 0 1 0 1 1 1 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 4 -7 -1 0 0 0

It needs to enclose these in double quotes as well, as in:

"HospitalIns(PartA)" 0 1 2563 0 0 1 0 1 1 1 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 4 -7 -1 0 0 0

When a replicat using the DEFGEN file starts, it automatically ABENDS with an error parsing the def file.
