BPM Process Space Stops Working After Deploying Custom Task Flow (Doc ID 1987056.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 19, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On BPM 11.1.1.7.0 with Oracle WebCenter Portal 11.1.1.8.0 with patch 17299932.

The BPM process space and modeling spaces set up and configured properly. They work fine until a custom task flow is deployed as shared library.  The following are steps to reproduce the issue:-

1) Deploy extend.portal.custom.webcenter.spaces.profile(1.0.4,1.0.4) which contains some custom task flows.

2) Deploy extend.spaces.webapp(11.1.2,11.1.2) and the custom task flows in the custom profile library works fine on all portals.

3) When attempt to access the process space it reports the following error on spaces log:-

oracle.mds.core.MetadataNotFoundException: MDS-00013: no metadata found for metadata object /WEB-INF/processApplicationsTaskflow.xml

4) If the extend.spaces.webapp(11.1.2,11.1.2) was removed, the process space starts working again.

Refer to Development Lifecycle for Task Flows in Oracle WebCenter Portal 11gR1 version 11.1.1.8.0 for detailed steps of creating a custom task flow.
