Guest vServer Shutdown Job Getting Stuck And Causing Issues When Shutdown Is Done From EMOC Assets View In Exalogic Virtual Releases (Doc ID 1992326.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.0.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual Releases when guest vServer shutdown operation is done from EMOC Assets view, the EMOC Job gets stuck and keeps running for hours.

The vServer on which the shutdown is issued from the EMOC shows as RUNNING on the EMOC console.

However when checking whether the vServer is actually running on the Dom0 Compute Nodes using "xm list" command we see that the vServer is not actually running.

Due to this sync issues any further shutdown (or) startup operations of guest vServer cannot be done from the EMOC.
