Symptoms
Import Server is failing to connect to the SMTP server with error:
There was an error sending your message.
There was an error connecting to the SMTP mail server. Context[SMTPSEND] Error: 9
There was an error connecting to the SMTP mail server. Context[SMTPSEND] Error: 9
Testing in a telnet session appears to be successful. When activating the Import Server job, the following error is returned in the Import Server log:
The following error occurred attempting to connect to the SMTP server [<Server_Name>] with the following user address [User@<host>] ErrNum: 9 ErrDesc: There was an error connecting to the SMTP mail server. Context[SMTPCONNECT]
When examining the smtp.log file generated by enabling the registry setting "EMAILLOGFILENAME", the following appears:

Error Connecting to [ <Server_Name> ]. # 10013
