Mobile Applications
Mobile applications are entitled to Error Correction Support relative to the latest version only.
Mobile application updates will be provided based on the most current release. Updates will be provided for the current version of the mobile application as long as the operating system, hardware on which it is running, and the underlying technology on which the application was based, are also still entitled to error correction by the associated vendor(s).
If a mobile application is intended to be used in conjunction with specific Oracle server software, you are required to have a current license and support agreement for the related server software in order to be entitled to mobile application updates. You will be entitled to error correction support for the mobile application, as described above, so long as the mobile application version is certified for use with the corresponding server software version in use and that server software is still entitled to Premier Support (Extended Support may be available optionally).
If the mobile application is intended to be used in conjunction with Oracle Cloud, you are required to have a current Oracle Cloud contract for an Oracle Cloud product or service for which the mobile application is intended to companion. You will be entitled to error correction support for the Oracle Cloud mobile application, as described above.
If the mobile application is stand-alone (i.e. not a companion application to other Oracle Software), such a mobile application must be used in accordance with the license and/or terms of use agreement presented at the time the application was obtained. Terms of support are provided in the corresponding license and/or terms of use agreement.
Most stand-alone Oracle mobile applications are not entitled to error correction support. Updates for stand-alone mobile applications will be released at Oracle’s discretion. Details of support for these applications are outlined in the license and/or terms of use agreement provided at the time of download.
Exceptions:
- In cases where a defect is deemed not feasible to repair on top of the current version, it may be necessary to implement the fix in the next major release. In some cases, the next major release may not be compatible with the previous operating system version. Upgrading and/or patching the operating system and/or hardware may be necessary in order to obtain a correction in such cases.
- Error Correction Support for mobile applications delivered through the Apple B2B system, Mobile Device Management, or other similar delivery system, may not be supported by this policy. Error Correction Support for mobile applications delivered via such mechanisms will be supported under the guidelines provided by Oracle with the application at the time of delivery.
