(Doc ID 1998888.1)
Last updated on AUGUST 02, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.2.0 and later Linux x86-64
Oracle Virtual Server x86-64
Purpose
Summary
Support has been added to resize the vCPU and Memory resources allocated to existing Exalogic Guest vServers in the following releases and higher.
EECS 2.0.6.2.0 (Fresh installs only, not in Jan 2015 PSU)
EECS 2.0.6.2.1 (April 2015 PSU)
The resizing functionality described in this MOS note and supported on Exalogic enables vCPU and Memory resources allocated to existing vServers to be modified through both the EM Ops Center Browser UI as well as using IaaS APIs. Note that this functionality requires the following:
EECS version of 2.0.6.2.0 (Fresh install, not Jan 2015 PSU) or EECS 2.0.6.2.1 (Apr 2015 PSU) or higher for EMOC BUI-based resizing support
EECS 2.0.6.2.2 (July 2015 PSU) or higher for CLI-based resizing using IaaS APIs
The Guest vServer to be modified must be stopped prior to the reconfiguration of allocated resources. “Live” resource modification is not supported
For fresh installs of 2.0.6.2.0 and April 2015 PSU (2.0.6.2.1), the resizing operation must be performed through the EM Ops Center Browser UI. Modification through CLI using Iaas APIs is not supported for these releases. Support for IaaS APIs is added in 2.0.6.2.2 (July 2015 PSU) and higher.
