OAM 11g: SSL Error "Too Many Open Files" for Oamclient-keystore.jks (Doc ID 2002526.1)

Goal

Set up an integrated Oracle Access Manager (OAM) / Oracle Adaptive Access Manager (OAAM) 11gR2PS2 environment with ssl enabled.

After stopping all processes and restarting the server, we observed the following error in the OAAM server logs when a resource protected by OAAM is accessed and authenticated.
