How to Configure or Relocate the GoldenGate Integrated Extract When It Abends Error code 1291, error message: ORA-01291: missing logfile (Doc ID 2003603.1)

 In certain cases, such as the integrated extract is abending with error message:

2015-04-20 10:28:06  ERROR   OGG-00868  Oracle GoldenGate Capture for Oracle, ext1.prm:  Error code 1291, error message: ORA-01291: missing logfile (Missing Log File +FLASHDG/XXXXX/archivelog/2015_04_18/thread_1_seq_110519.288.877390783. Read Position SCN 1324310472). 

In the above situation, customer will have a gap, but it is usually all archives exists on the backup system.

Customers used to restore this archive from the source but it is not in ASM but on a file system e.g. (/u01/app/oracle/archive/XXXX/1_110519_652630774.dbf)

Therefore, the steps detailed in this note will help in  relocating or configuring the GoldenGate integrated extract to look at an alternative location in order to resolve the gap.
