Symptoms

Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) 11g, e.g. 11.1.1.7.0.

Processing of error message returned from OVD is failing due to "[" bracket being open in the ErrorMessage.

This can be seen in an ldapbind to OVD with an incorrect password, the resulting message is missing the ending/closing right bracket:
