Why Does Disabling Folders_g Leave Things Enabled In WebCenter Content When They Are No Longer Valid? (Doc ID 2005469.1)

Goal

 If you are running folders_g and disable it, items and fields related specifically to folders_g are left in place even though they are only valid for folders_g. For example, if when running folders_g you had customized the Search Results view to include the Folder column, this is still displayed after you have disabled folders_g, and still shows the old values (xCollectionID). Why is this?
