OID 11g DIP Novell eDirectory Synchronization Profile Fails with java.lang.NullPointerException (Doc ID 2009531.1)

Symptoms

OID - Novel Edirectory synchronization configured.

Profile status is valid but synchronization fails with the following error in the logs:
