ODSEE / OUD 11g/12c - Password Sync / Translate Using DIP (11.1.1.9.0) shows "Unrecognized token in attribute mapping rule "xxxxx"" (Doc ID 2013518.1)

Symptoms


While trying to configure ODSEE or OUD to AD password sync (password translate) using the newest version of DIP 11gR2PS7 (11.1.1.9.0).
Not able to sync password, and seeing the message:

"Unrecognized token in attribute mapping rule "xxxxx""

the documentation here:

9.8.2.2 Synchronizing Password from the Oracle Unified Directory to a Connected Directory using Password Translate

says to put the below mapping in place:

orclodiptranslatepassword: : : top : unicodepwd : : user : passswordtranslate(orclodiptranslatepassword)

When attempting to put the mapping expression as passswordtranslate(orclodiptranslatepassword), an error message is returned stating "Unrecognized token ..."
