How to Ignore Quotation Marks when Searching on a Custom Metadata Field Which has a Two-Word Option Containing a Space in the Drop-Down Option List (Doc ID 2016227.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 05, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.7.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

With Oracle Text Search (OTS) used in Content Server, a custom metadata field is created which has option list. When this option list contains a two word option with a space, it adds quotation marks while doing a search on the field.

This results in unexpected search results coming back such as no results for "contains" search option and for "does not match", it returns all results.

This variable should not automatically convert drop-down values to queries that do not work and needs to be ignored while searching.
