Wildcard Not Working When Searching Assets With Japanese Keyword (Doc ID 2018620.1)

Symptoms

When searching assets in the WebCenter Sites Contributor UI, wildcard search never works for Japanese keyword, e.g. neither "テ*ト" nor "テ?ト" matches for "テスト". However wildcard searches for English keywords work in the same environment, e.g. both "t*t" and "te?t" matche "test".
