How To Update Exalogic Control After Upgrading Memory On Compute Nodes (Doc ID 2021087.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.0.0 and later
Linux x86-64
Oracle Virtual Server x86-64

Purpose

This Note provides steps to update Exalogic Control stack EMOC and OVMM in Exalogic Virtual releases after expanding the memory of an Exalogic compute node (X2-2, X3-2, X4-2, X5-2, X6-2). This procedure has to be performed to enable Exalogic Control to use the extra memory when making vServer placement decisions and to display newly updated memory usage.

NOTE:

The procedure can be used any time to refresh the Exalogic Control model of a compute node.  For example, if the EMOC or OVMM BUI is not showing the correct memory or CPU capacity of a compute node, this procedure should correct it.
