Login to WebUI Sometimes Fails Due to 500 Error in WCS on WLS Environment

When accessing to WebCenter Sites (WCS) WebUI running on WebLogic Server (WLS), login fails due to 500 error after sending ID/password ( http://wcssvr.internet.com:8001/cas/login?service=http%3A%2F%2Fwcssvr.internet.com%3A8001%2Fcs%2Fwem%2Ffatwire%2Fwem%2FWelcome )
When the issue occurs, the log files show the following output. There was no specific output in cas.log.
access.log of WebLogic Server
The issue occurs when the JDBC Data source in WLS, which WCS is using for repository access, has inactive connection timeout enabled (i.e. set the inactive connection timeout to non-zero value).
